Pas Valleys is the fate of Cantabria which recorded higher occupancy in 2010, according to the Hotel Occupancy Survey published by the Cantabrian Institute of Statistics (ICAN).
In particular, we have placed first in the occupancy rates in relation to the number of existing establishments in the region, reaching 45.83% and the average stay away from, reaching on average 2.58 days per passenger.
Thus, in the region have recorded a total of 154,347 overnight stays with a total of 909 seats available, as highlighted by the association of the Pas Valley.
Meanwhile, the Autonomous Community of tourists have moved to this location is Madrid, with a total of 44,251, followed by 23,185 in the Basque Country, Castillo y Leon with 20,925, and 13,850 Asturias travelers.
In point of foreign tourists the country that has moved to 1376 was Germany, followed by Italy with 853 and UK 645.
Regarding the average, where the Pas Valleys have also been placed first, highlight the month of April with 4.41 days to 3.29 days and February.
Angel Saenz, president of the Association of Pas valleys, highlighted the “constant effort” being made since 2006 to implement a first phase of the Tourism Promotion Plan and subsequently the Tourism Marketing Plan of the Pas Valley, “As These figures show that good results are bringing us both in attracting tourists and in positioning the region as a destination of excellence.”
Since the launch of two of the Valley Tourist Plans developed in the region Pasig’s have driven activities to boost the local economy, such as Craft Fairs, Markets typical products, the Gastronomic, or creating new typical products such as the Cheese Plate of the Pas Valley, among others.
Moreover the area has been promoted in tourism fairs to impact nationally and internationally, as Fitter in Madrid, Expovacaciones in Bilbao, Valladolid Incur, or the International Tourism Fair of Catalonia.
Have also been edited and republished several publications such as Travel Guide, Gourmet, maps of the region in various languages, calendars, DVDs, and various merchandising items.
Other icons of reference has been holding for five editions of the National Photography Contest Pas valleys, which in turn has allowed to hold exhibitions in their outcome to promote the region of Cantabria not only within but also in other sites Spain.
